I began reading Mel's copy of Slapstick or Lonesome No More! by Kurt Vonnegut. At the get-go it wasn't making sense. I realise this is par for the course with Vonnegut, but this really wasn't making sense. I looked down and saw that the book began on page 64. Sixty-three pages (eight chapters) were missing from this used-bookstore paperback. I decided to read a little anyway. Three pages into it, it really didn't make sense again. The book went from page 67 to 84. (sigh) I think I'm going to put it down and never pick it up again. Maybe I'll steal it and use the pages in my artwork.
