"It's sooo haaaard to say goodbye to yesterdaaaaaay!"

prevJan. 14, 2004 - 6:48 p.m.next

What's one of the saddest things I'll have to face when I move Sunday? Saying goodbye to Kazaa. Since this isn't a temporary move like a tour is, I won't be back for some time. During the time that I'll be gone, the parental units will probably be replacing the old Compy, and my "shared files" will be gone for good. Tear. Sniffle.

Here's what is really sad: I have close to 630 songs...and our CD burner is crashed. OH WHEN WILL THE SUFFERING END?!

There are many people against free downloading of music on the internet. These people (Nazis) mainly live in big houses, vacation in their other big houses, and drive to their big houses in big gas-guzzling SUVs. Or they live in Nashville and give themselves the title "singer/songwriter." But I have a little story to tell concerning "pirated" music...aargh!

In the Year of Our Lord 2000, my friend Carr!e burned me a CD using some new-fangled thinger called Napster. On this CD were 7 songs by the band Skillet. To make a long story short, because of the interest in the band that these songs created, I now own all 5 Skillet albums, a Skillet DVD, and have attended 2 Skillet concerts. While at the first concert, I saw the band The Benjamin Gate open for Skillet. I became an immediate BG fan, and now own both of their CDs and their DVD as well. (not to mention that there is a slight obsession page of the lead singer, Adrienne, on my website) Now, the question is fairly obvious: would I have spent so much of my hard earned money on these bands if Carr!e hadn't burned that CD? No. Plain and simple. OH! There's also the added $$ that has been spent by friends of mine who have heard me extoll the greatness of these bands and have gone out and bought albums of their own.

So...Nazis and Nashvillians (ooooo! I like that!), get off your high horses and high Hummers and thank Napster for all the capital that burning has sent your way.
